I read this, and became insanely interested....

I am often asked about my major and what I'm studying. I know some of my friends are studying certain subjects/majors because they are still uncertain of what they actually want to do.

I like to think that I am in a major that I thoroughly enjoy. I like the way I need to think to understand a computer -- the way it works, the way to work it, the way to program, and the lvl of logic I use in my programs.

Like I tell others -- what keeps me loving ICS is the fact that after I conquer a program, I feel incredible. Like -- I actually created this.

I thought back to my previous "Dream Jobs" list, and I think I'd still enjoy being a writer for PSM (PlayStation Magazine). Writing seems to be a semi-passion for me. I care not for structure or logic, but I care deeply for the random ranting act of it. Maybe that is why I enjoyed Mr. Hancock's daily writing assignment so much.

Other Dream Jobs included some sort of columnist, wrestler's manager/commentator and the sort.

I think I would love to play games, and talk about them. Being on the forefront of video game news all the time, and seeing the great technology that befalls the gaming society.

More later, im exhausted. Time to read PSM to sleep.

I have a grip of music I haven't listened to. I think I'll take a week at a time and really listen to a bunch of different artists.

lets see what the random song generator does...

Random songs:

Rx Bandits -- Cornered
I honestly admit I have never listened to a single Rx Bandits song, and yet I have a grip of them.
FFT OST -- Pray
FF Tactics kicks ass, as does its soundtrack
Christina Aguilera -- Make Over
Never heard this song before. Sounds pretty cool.
Jay-Z/DJ Danger Mouse -- Allure
Mixing Beatles and Jay-Z has interesting results.
Robotech -- Rick Hunter's Theme
Awesome anime theme from Robotech. Poody made a great observation saying it sounded like an action news opening theme.
Missy Elliot -- Hot
Another bumping beat by Missy that I haven't listened to.
FF7 OST -- Crazy Motorcycle
The awesome theme as you drive with your motorcycle away from baddies
Christina Aguilera -- Keep on (Singing my song)
Actually a chorus repeat of Fighter. DELEETED!
Abondoned Pools -- The Remedy (Acoustic)
During the overlapping period of my Clone High fanaticism, and my acoustic fetish, I stumbled upon this version of the Remedy. (btw, AP plays the theme for Clone High). A very good song, well sung, and well played.
FFT OST -- Love Love Happiness
FFT OST rocks -- can't quite place this song, but soothing all the same
Franz Ferdinand -- Better on Holiday
Blender chose him as the pick of the month, and I got it upon Leslie's recommendation. Still have not listened to much, but this sounds pretty cool from the opening riffs.
Thursday -- Standing on the Edge of Summer
I have trouble differentiating Thursday and Taking Back Sunday. I don't know why. Don't know much about Thursday, but ppl who listen to my type of music listen to them.
Jason Mraz -- The Remedy
Funny how it randomly played both "Remedy"s. Not a huge fan of this song -- catchy lyrics and stuff, but nothing that makes me love it. I'll call it the most overplayed song that features a word as complicated as "liason"
Reggie and the Full Effect -- Megan is my Friend to the Max
One of the only slow jams by RATFE. It's an okay song.
Rufio -- Dipshit
One of my favorite Rufio songs. "I'm wondering why not just let me live on my own?"
Yellowcard -- Ocean Avenue
My favorite YC song. "Theres a piece thats here with me. It's everywhere I go, its everything I see. When I sleep, I dream that it gets me by."
Christina Aguilera -- Loving me for me
Another Christina song. This one's pretty decent.
FF6 -- Tango of Tears
A midi-form of the victory theme. bleh
Ultimate Fakebook - The Scheme to Listen No More
Decent song. Pretty decent band.

I now tire of this. I will just write the bands I get when i hit next.

FFT OST
Slick Shoes
FF7 OST
John Mayer
FF7 OST
Limp Bizkit (Break Stuff -- probably my favorite song to scream out)
DDR 2nd
Blink 182
Juliana Theory
Weezer
Gorillaz
FFT OST
Foo Fighters
Pixies
FFT OST
Tupac
Taking Back Sunday
Green Day
FFT OST
Justin Timberlake
Newfound Glory
DDR 3rd
White Stripes
Eminem
J.E.W.
FFT OST
Movielife
Pixies

I think i have too much FF stuff.

Math fun!

Given:
x = 1
x = y

Equation
xx = xy
xx - yy = xy - yy
(x+y)(x-y) = y(x-y)
x+y = y
1+1 = 1
1 = 0

*******************************
1/3 = 0.333...
multiply both sides by 3
1 = 0.999...

************************

let x = .999...
10x = 9.999...
10x - x = 9.999... - .999...
9x = 9
x = 1

*********************************

since there is no number between 9.999... and 10, we can therefore imply they are the same number

I emailed Mr Goepel, and I told him what an awesome teacher he was.

I was thinking he probably wouldn't get it since I bet he didn't check his email.

But I just checked my email, and voila! he responded! He appreciates what I said to him, and said that he did have a bout with prostate cancer, but surgery was a huge success and theres an excellent chance it will not return. More Goepel for the coming years of Loyola!

Sylvester Stallone and Contender

So there's a new reality show (The Contender).  And I feel onboard with it even though its not even out yet.

I was never a big fan of American Idol.  If anything, it stemmed from Kate in some form, or me making fun of people who got pwned by Simon, and other than that, the final 10 idea got kinda old -- ppl sing, they talk about them for about 30 minutes, and "America votes."

American Idol was on last night, and its the final two.  I thought "How the hell are they going to fill up an hour's worth of material?"  I apparently forgot from two years ago when I saw the Kelly/Justin finale.  They each sang two songs = 15 mins max.  the rest was hype/background, which i thought was BS.

Anyways....

The show is basically American Idol, but instead of singing, its boxing.  Sylvester Stallone (who was hilarious by the way) made some really good points about what the show is about.  He was talking about how boxing has been weak lately -- the most popular/well-known guy = promoter (Don King).  So hes thinking by showing some fights, and showing a little background, the character of the boxer would be more known, especially being on primetime of a network.

I guess this seems more valid since I know a lot of singers and there are tons of young talent and lots of great voices and performers.

Boxers...don't know much.

Going home was weird.  I feel like I haven't been in my house in a long time.

Time for class.

I also want to crowdsurf.

sepeartion of church and state?

I get this email in my inbox.  The subject proclaimed it to be “awesome.”

>  "AMERICA!"

>

>I don't know who put this together but, they deserve a lot of credit.

>

>Osama Bin Laden, your time is short;

>We'd rather you die & have our God deal with you , than come to court.

>Why are you hiding if it was in " God" 's name?

>You're just a punk with a turban; a pathetic shame.

>

>I have a question, about your theory and laws;

>"How come you never die for the cause?"

>

>Is it because you're a coward who counts on others?

>Well, here in America, we stand by our God (the Father, the Son and the

>Holy Spirit) and by our brothers.

>

>As is usual, you and the Devil  failed in your mission;

>If you expected pure chaos, you can keep on wishing

>Americans are now focused and stronger than ever; we are now more united,

>seeking God's help in prayer, and His justice for what you have done.

>Your death has become our next endeavor.

>

>What you tried to kill, doesn't live in our walls;

>It's not in buildings or shopping malls.

>

>If all of our structures came crashing down;

>It would still be there, safe and sound.

>

>Because pride and courage and the ONE and ONLY TRUE God can't be destroyed;

>Even if the towers leave a deep void.

>

>We'll band together and fill the holes

>We'll bury our dead and bless their souls.

>

>But then our energy will focus on you;

>And you'll feel the wrath of the

>Red, White and Blue and of our God .

>

>So slither and hide like a snake in the grass;

>Because America's coming to get you and so is our God!!!

>

>Keep this email going.. PASS IT ON

>

>..this is awesome..who ever did this deserves credit!  God Bless AMERICA!!!

I don’t know if this is a valid reason to be annoyed greatly, but whenever I see ppl saying how GREAT America is, and also citing how God protects us and blah blah blah.

Not being anti-God, but anti-religious patriotism.  Maybe I’m just whining.

I want to...

short term:
feel like I've learned a lot this quarter.
feel relaxed like I'm done with all my work.
feel like I'm doing better things for my health.

long term:
buy an electric guitar and know how to play it.
run the LA marathon.
write/draw something funny to share with everyone.
tell Mr. Goepel how much I learned from him.

Holy Crap this would rock

Kinda like my story where Kobe rips off his jersey reveal a Spurs jersey, causing turmoil. He drop kicks Shaq and lays a sick dunk to make the winning point for the Spurs. Spurs v Lakers in Game 7 -- and they build up this whole Shaq v Kobe fued ala WWE.

Awesome.

I had another weird dream.

I was being called a racist, but in a very odd way. Like this guy called me like a "chackerrock" and abunch of random shit put togther and I'm like "what?" and he calls me racist.

Dream aside, I have had my reservations about people in the past, but thats way in the past, and I'd like to be someone who can honestly say that I'm not completely ignorant when it comes to being sensitive to these sort of issues.

Diversity rules. I'm sleepy.

. its my life .

Kate is going to have a tough weekend, and it pains me to not be able to be there with her. Please keep her in your thoughts this weekend, and she'll be forever grateful. I'll miss you a lot babes! Shes pretty =)

And as you can see we have tons of fun together =)

And we're cute together.

I'm going to miss her. So since I can't be with her this weekend, I kinda worry, but I know she's a strong girl, and she'll be good.

My American Heart

New band Brian showed me. pretty damn good. Just found out they have a show next Saturday for 8 bucks only! Argh stupid family coming home =( Obviously I can't go.

Anyways, some good stuff, and I think Brian said they're all filipinos in high school still? Pretty impressive. Go punk rock flips!

It seems like the only class that fits my schedule (aka not super early, not super late) is the stupid boring class I really dont want to take.

Not that the other classes are super duper exciting, but at least relatively interesting (like comparings the interest level of a cow and a cow thats grazing -- its not that much difference, but you'll take what you can get).

Apparently my posts made using my Blogger client do NOT leave the comments tag, thereby, leaving a handful of my posts uncommentable. Hopefully, using the BlogThis! button on the Google Bar will be my newest solution to the problem, but I do think having a software client (ala Semagic for LJ users) would make me want to post more often. Any suggestions let me know.

I often wonder if anyone reads this other than Kate. It's nice to know I'm somebody's homepage, but I don't exactly expect my thoughts to be that exciting and that frequently updated to the point where you make it your homepage.

OR DOES IT?

quick Harvey Birdman quote: "More decent than baseball? DUN DUN DUN!"

Nerd Limerick

I heart nerd poems. and I heart bash.org

There was this tight limerick that Jimmy wrote about programming. I hope I can find it and post it.

I had a weird dream last night. It combined a lot of things between high school and college, and let me get out what I can remember.

-- Robert Magcase went to prom with Elsy, but he had the runs, and she was getting pissed off waiting for his ass to get out of the bathroom. At first it was hilarious how pissed she was and what a loser Robert was, but after a while, me and Tony talked about how much it sucked for him, since he liked her so much. Apparently, there were also cops who were at the prom (just chaperoning I guess), and they heard about it, and they went in the bathroom and taunted him and laughed their asses off.

Never have I honestly felt so bad for someone I had so little contact with.

-- Justin Salmingo was smoking at something that was similar to the Nativity Fiesta. Something super duper random. Also, Edgar's newsletter won some award, somewhere.

Yes, super duper weird dream section last night. A bit more of it had to do with the "prom" but its getting pretty fuzzy as I write this, and the more and more I write it, the more and more retarded it becomes.

Off to class.

One great shot deserves another

So aptly said.

It's almost like it woulda been a clutch moment for the ages for the Spurs, but the Lakers took it, and its even more so for the Lakers.

so the midterm went fine. bleh.

FUSION was chill yesterday. nice little presentation on gameage. I swear I could talk so long about video games -- me and steve talk about games -- i talk about FF and d2 with my bros for hours -- wc3/tft with romes for a long time. video games rule.

Afterwards, I went to ZotZone with Ray, Sonny, Mel, Chi, and Christine (who was basically on the phone the whole time). Played some DDR with Mel. Argh, DDR is tough with Chucks on. Played some pool with the guys after the girls left. It's been awhile since I've done some ZZ chillin. LOL the conversation:

Ray: I'm gonna go home after this game. Gonna play more World of Warcraft.
Me: Holy shit hell yah! Play more WoW then update your blog so I can read it!

I'm excited about the game now that he's playin it, so more that I hear from a real person (aka not gamespot.com or whatever), the cooler it sounds.

Friends Season 7 Episode 2
The one with Rachel's Book

Monica lets Rachel and Phoebe decide who gets to be her maid of honor. Joey finds a spicy book in Rachel's bed and jokes about it. Phoebe stays at Ross's apartment, and has her massage clients, which leave Ross massaging an aging man.

No vidcaps -- nothing seemed too hilarious in this ep.

I just bought Friends Season 7 on DVD and thought it'd be fun to post about the episode and some quotes from it.

The one with Monica's Thunder

The friends decide to go for drinks in a post-engagement celebration of Monica and Chandler. Rachel gets sad as she realizes she is far from marriage, and kisses Ross. Phoebe aggravates Monica when she is not allowed to play at the wedding. Chandler has some male problems, and goes to Joey for help, but is only met with a foolish Italian thinking he can play a 19-year-old.

I cleaned up my room at home and found an old notebook with a bunch of old quotes...

So my dad bought some wine in Europe, and had to carry it all day until finally returning home. They labeled it fragile when it was sent back through the plane, and my parents found their luggage rummaged through, and two bottles of expensive European wine gone.

Yes, they were mad, and airport wouldn't do anything -- who says they didn't just take the wine out, mess up their luggage and returned?

My dad wondered if it was arrestable/punishable by law if he infused the wine bottles with laxative in the event where it happened again.

Well, if the following is true, then it might:

comment: this person is 5th place for the Stella awards, anmed after an 81-year-old who spilled coffee on herself then sued McDonalds and won.

5. Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He couldn't reenter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr. Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of $500,000.

Alright a couple of things...

First off E3 looks awesome. So many flagship series comin, and I'm excited for the next year of video game development -- Metroid, Metal Gear, GTA, Halo. Half-life, Sims, Jak&Dax, Def Jam Vendetta, GT, Doom, etc.

I doubt I'll play half of them, but lately gameage mags/websites have more been for me to fill my interest. It's a weird idea of me being a gamer, who doesn't intend to play the games. I still play games, but not as much as I woulda liked to (if i was 14 again, I'd play em all).

Second, next week's schedule. I need to get into SUPER GEAR. I'm thinkin about a total game/friends/scrubs embargo. I don't know how long I'll last, but I'm going to start tomorrow -- no games/watching friends/scrubs during the week. Still, I'm reconsidering right now -- when I eat my meals, I tend to watch friends/scrubs, so I'll limit it to ONE episode per lunch/dinner. I'm such a freak.

Another thing I wanted to start working on -- sleep schedule. I want to consistently be ASLEEP by midnight. Of course, to this note, working out would definitely help. It's weird how working out around noon-2ish = exhausting, and i feel like napping right before work. But working out at night = energizing. Weird. I'm such an owl.

Make sure you tell your moms how much they mean to you.

oh yah.

Friends finale. Well what can I say? I'm happy Joey and Chandler had their moment, Monica got her babies, Ross and Rach (of course), and Mike actually showed up for like 30 seconds. Ever since Mike married Phoebe, I was expecting to see him every other ep, but he's been scarce.

I'm so glad Gunther had his moment. That is probably the thing that I expected least, and was most happy about. Yes weird, but still yes.

So Friends and Frasier are over. Time for Scrubs to step up and take over! GO TUESDAY NIGHTS AT 9:30!

Bought my tickets to see Fall Out Boy. I'm happy the FOB song that I'm most into is pretty much the only song that isn't about a horrible breakup.

"You need him; I could be him. I could be an accident, but I'm still trying. That's more than I could say for him" -- Fall Out Boy

I was thinking I could make a whole paragraph of clips from just choruses. I should start writing them down, and maybe use some acoustica to clip them together.

Ahh, Steve had to get some revenge after that previous pic with this pic. Nice.

Syndicated Feeds

Holy damn.

My LJ friends page is going to be so swamped with comics and radical-ness. I recently discovered this and im so happy.

ucomics.com only allows one comic emailed to you daily. my plan was to use outlook express, and get about 8 emails, one for each of the comics i want. Then someone auto fwd them to another email, where i can view them all at my leisure.

THis is way easier! I hope others take advantage of this, and check out awesome web comics, like pvp, PA, sinfest, something positive, so many goodies! i luv comics!

Wednesday, May 05, 2004

So I recently purchased the re-release of Reggie's first album. Right before that I had finally decided to burn a cd of all of my favorite Reggie songs. Unfortunately, the songs are all short songs, and barely filled up 3/4ths of the cd.

Well, listening to this cd was fine -- it had all the good elements, and sounded great, but i found myself skipping songs a lot. Not that I didn't like em, but it didn't put me in that mood that Promotional Copy or Under the Tray did.

Listening to the actual album, which has 10 second random stuff spliced between the songs gives a feeling of floating. The random flows right into the opening of the song and I see myself turning it up and jamming. Call it a rad moment.

Actually, another Bozastic moment occurred to me last week, but until I can transfer the necessary picture to display what I saw during that moment, I'll leave it up to your imagination. Remember the first one was relating to the realization of a Reggie song. I'll link the old post later, but I think it's in my old Livejournal.

Also, I had been enjoying Blender so much. The multitude of reviews and the well-laid out page made it much easier for me to read as opposed to Rolling Stone or Vibe. Through it, I discovered this British rapper known as The Streets.

Imagine watching Snatch or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but hearing rap. It's like Robbie Williams, after a couple bottles of vodka. It's interesting, and I'll leave it at that for now. I find myself humming the beats and the saying the words in my head, and I have yet to say if I like it or not.

The coolest part is that it's not about like bling-bling, makin the money, gettin the women or the drugs, but about life. The newest release "A Grand Don't Come for Free" starts off talkin about how he's got a bunch of errands, and they all end up messin up. Blender says he's got a narrative flair and great voice for it. Other reviews I've seen give it thumbs up all the way. If you're interested in hearing some, let me know.

After the Alicia/Beyonce/Missy concert, I signed up for mailing lists of the bands I want to see. I wasn't hopeful -- YC had just passed through irvine, FOB had gone through SoCal a couple months ago, and Reggie isn't even touring. But I was surprised to see two SoCal shows for FOB, and I'm excited as hell. Kate and I are going to the show in Anaheim, and its only 12 bucks a piece. That's the kinda show I can get into.

Romes talks about a making a dance cd, somethin to get him bumpin and jammin and in that mode of dancing. I thought about making a similar cd about the kind of rock tunes that do that. I started making a list, but some songs come off as a strong opening, but weak the rest of the way. So far, I'm putting Reptilia in the mix. Any more suggestions?

Well here's the rest of my day in my head:
now - 12:20 lunch/relax
1-2 class
2-3 get paycheck, deposit, buy FOB tickets
3-430 programming at home
5-6 class
6-630 programming at ICS
630-730 posters for FUSION
730-? programming (due at 11pm)

wish me luck.

PS -- What's my build? Round or Teddy Bear? =)

Monday, May 03, 2004

Going through some changes over here at the Bozasm Developments camp. Tryin out some new things, and I'll see if it works. Couple awesome links on the right, so go check em out.

Anyways, school has been okay lately. Today I made a decision to work just that much harder and I set a schedule for myself today. While I followed it to a tee in the beginning, I sorta burned out, but I'm doing fine still. Made plans to clean the kitchen, do a lot of hw, practice guitar, work on this site, and work out. So far, I'm doing well -- kitchen's pretty clean, I did a decent amount of hw, I did practice guitar for 30 minutes, and now I'm workin on this site. Workout is set to start at 9.

Chillin with Kate has been awesome lately. Just so much fun, and I'm so glad things are going so super well. We've been busy doing our own things lately, so when we do spend our time together, its a great time.

In the meantime, enjoy how much I can do with paint ---> check out steve -- as happy as ever

More later.
