It's freakin cold in Vegas...
Today has a high of 49 and a low of 29, and I'm starting to realize thats why I actually kept that jacket and that scarf. My fingers shiver as this post is being typed, despite the fact I'm wearing a sweater, a jacket, a scarf, a beanie and a blanket (notice that GLOVES are missing, which explains the first part of the sentence). It's really misleading when Yahoo Weather says Sunny, but the degrees is less than 50. It's actually very disheartening.
The concept of going to Utah to go SNOWBOARDING practically frightens me -- I'm ready for cold weather, but apparently Vegas winter just sucker-punched me. It is tough to be ready for freakin cold, when you move to Vegas in the summer, and day after day your body mentally strengthens to battle the harsh dry emotionally painful heat of the 110 degree summer.
Yesterday I finally got my loan approval. I jumped for joy and made my calls/texts, and I'm happy there isn't much more stress involved in the process. Just looking at papers, noting the numbers, and all that good stuff. Next step -- walkthrough, paying money, moving in.
Does the picture above look like and invisible family doing the robot? That's the first thing I thought of...
So I started doing some tests with my Cox flaky internet connection when I realized who the culprit was -- my router! I set a ping /t on both my gateway (router) and on google.com -- whenever google.com's ping fails, the ping on the gateway shouldn't die, but it does. So apparently my wireless is not consistent. I need a new wireless router, especially since when we move, we're probably going to need a wireless router that extends around the house, and the piece I have now goes to "good connection" from "excellent" it I move it a couple of feet. Any suggestions?
And to close, some comments from Lewis Black on the subject of cold:
"It was the coldest winter I can remember in my life. It was really nice weather if you were a fucking moose. If you had fur on your nuts, it was a festival out there. I didn't have a thought the whole winter. Seriously, the only thought I had was 'Fuck its cold!' or 'It's cold as fuck!'"

At home, not feeling well...

Snatch is on my lap chewin a rawhide while I write this post. Weeks have gone by without a peep here -- I come up with lots of random things to talk about at work, but they are moments of thought that don't get realized into a wonderfully picture-accompanied post.
Here are some thoughts I had that I did manage to remember:
- Ducktales. There was an episode where Huey, Dewey and Louie wanted to buy a bike that was on sale, but didn't have the money. They asked Uncle Scrooge for money, but he wouldn't advance their allowance, thus teaching them an earnest lesson in planning ahead. They did manage to trick Uncle Scrooge the next day -- by some how faking the alarm, scamming all people near him, and giving him a future-dated newspaper, they were able to convince him that it was in fact the next day -- the day the boys get their allowance. Now receiving their allowance a day earlier, they ran off to purchase their bike. However, they were sorely disappointed to find that the bike shop owner believed it to be the incorrect day as well, and told the boys the sale was over.
Their fib had snowballed, and in fact the whole world believed it to be the incorrect day, turning into some super international incident where Gizmoduck was about to be attacked in some foreign country, for arriving one day later than their agreement. In order to prove what day it was, he had to move some clouds to expose an eclipse, which was scheduled to appear on the correct date.
There really wasn't any concept or thought connected to this stray idea, but i thought I'd talk about it.
I'm buying a house in Las Vegas. My loan officer ran my credit at 700+ so I'm pretty much in the fast track to get the settled. The loan should be set up in the next couple of weeks, and Kate and I are moving in around Christmas. Walkthrough, paperwork and keys boooooyah. I'll post pics later. It's hilarious how this is actually news, but you had to be patient enough to wade through the last two paragraphs of Ducktales boredom to get to the meat of the news. Kudos to those who did.
Took Snatch to the park yesterday where they actually have large areas for specific weight groups of dogs. She had a lot of fun, almost poo'd on someone, and got tackled by a bulldog. She fell asleep promptly when she got home, which is always a good sign.
I finished Bully, and have to say it was pretty damn good. It sucks because either people love GTA and think Bully is soft and not "cool," or they hate GTA, and the similar concept may push them away.
No luck getting the Wii yet, but I don't mind waiting. Got lots to pay, got lots to play, and I don't have much time in total.
Been following some football recently. Redskins scored an awesome win over the Cowboys a couple of weeks ago, and made me realize some of the magic of organized sports. However, the magic of Calvinball will always prevail.
So i'm starting to feel a little woozy so i might take more tylenol, lie down and dream of someone receiving a vicious RKO through flaming tables. Unfortunately, i doubt anyone who reads this knows what an RKO is, so check it out here. When the guy yelled RKO, Snatch ran away. HILARIOUS.
