I watched Episode 2 a long time ago, but I stopped halfway and I didn't pay attention or whatever, and I realized, that with Episode 3 coming out fairly soon, maybe I should watch it again. That combined with the need to watch something whilst I do some elliptical machine to lower my blood pressure.
I watched the first hour or so. I don't see why Padme would fall for Anakin. He seems so creepy and weird. It's really one of those situations where I feel the romance is rushed and they're just pushing the "forbidden love" angle a little too much.
Somethings that stuck out:
1. Anakin is being the typical stubborn apprentice character, and in response to his lack of obedience/patience, Obi-wan says "Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?" Clever. All more clever is Anakin's response: "Don't say that Master. You're the closest thing I have to a father. I love you. I don't want to cause you pain."
I think I need to watch Episode 4 again. I want to see Obi-wan's character there.
2. When Obi-wan is making references to a planet in space, he says that "According to my information, it should be in this quadrant somewhere, just south of the Rishi Maze."
What does "south" mean in space? This idea came up also in Joe's blog, there he referenced Ender's Game and the idea of there is no north/south, but there is up/down. That was a good book.
